Jon was born August 24, 1982, in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania where his father was stationed for the military. Two years later, his family was able to move back to Alabama (where they were originally from) and settled down in Anniston. Jon attended Wellborn High School where he excelled in baseball, basketball, and football, as well as Student Council and Abundant Life President. Jon graduated 7th in his class and went on to Jacksonville State University on an academic scholarship. He was a walk-on on the baseball team but unfortunately, never got to play a game thanks to a shoulder injury. Jon spent 3 years at JSU and during that time started working part-time at WDJC in 2001. In June 2003, Jon moved to Birmingham and transferred to UAB. On September 1, 2003, the Jon Walden Show first went on the air and has been tearing up the airwaves ever since. In August 2005, Jon married his sweetheart of over 3 years, Amber Mange. Jon and Amber have 2 dogs ("babies" as Amber likes to call them): Chipper the poodle and Scooter the shitszu (R.I.P. Susie the dachshund 8/1/95-8/1/09). They enjoy traveling and spending time with their family.
