About Jessica Borklund

Host of Joyful Noise
Mon-Sat 5a-10a

Having spent four years as on-air personality in political talk radio on one of our sister stations, Jessica loves growing with WDJC. “I think God allowed me and my family to walk through some really difficult things in life to showcase His glory, His strength and His sustaining grace.” she said, “Now He’s given me this platform in radio to share the incredible things He’s done in my life to hopefully impact others for Christ”.

In 2020, Jessica partnered with long-time friend, Russell P, on the airwaves of WDJC; a venture that would later lead to two Jesus-centered, laughter filled shows….mornings AND afternoons. You can join in the fun on Joyful Noise with Russell P & Jessica, Monday – Saturday from 5:00 – 10:00 a.m. and on The Afternoon JOLT Monday – Saturday from 2-7pm

How Faith comes alive for me

I would say my eyes light up and my faith comes alive in my prayer life. Having that feeling of oneness with my Creator and Savior just gives me so much hope, peace and gratefulness.

A stay-at-home mom for over 10 years, her days were filled with homework, housework and adventures with her two children, Landen and McKaylee. But her world came crashing down when her daughter, McKaylee, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of malignant brain cancer at just 7 months old, a diagnosis that carried with it a 5 year survival rate. However, after a year of treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and millions of prayers from friends and family, McKaylee has beat the odds and just celebrated her 16th birthday.

Walking this journey through cancer with both of her kids has given Jessica a unique perspective in life and has radically impacted her faith in Christ and His power to do the impossible.

How I came to be a Chistian

Although I grew up in a christian home, I didn’t truly become a follower of Jesus until age 36. I actually had a dream that both terrified me and spiritually intrigued me. The details of the dream aren’t as important as how the Lord used it in my life. When I woke up from that dream, I knew God was calling me into fellowship with Him and I desperately wanted to follow Him. My life has never been the same since that dream and Jesus has radically transformed my life and my heart.

More about me

I love writing music, playing the piano and I’m a total adrenaline junkie. I love finding all sorts of adventures with my kids, from rock climbing to white water rafting, there’s nothing quite as exhilarating as an epic adventure with the people you love the most
